Philosophy

The individual who presents him/herself to the Alouette Addictions for services is believed to have the ability to change, and to be able to be responsible for his or her own healing, The solutions to problems lie within the individual, and the orle of the agency is to assist the client in the journey of self-exploration and self-discovery.

  • The program operates from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual philosophy, which is holistic in application.
  • For the chemically dependent, harm reduction and/or abstinence can be part of the treatment process.
  • The involvement in treatment of the partner, family and/or significant other(s) is regarded as very important.
  • It is the position of the program that addiction is a process that can be halted at any point, including the point before it starts.
  • Prevention, consequently, is also a major focus of the service.
